My Ideal Home: Things he's mastered:
-going potty outside (zero accidents since adding him to our home)
-will accept feedback from our alpha dog (frenchie); he's quickly becoming part of the pack
-hopping in/out of outside "doggy pool". He was scared at first but followed the lead of other dogs and will now lay in water and splash with his paws (and is adorable while doing)
-walk on lead with harness
-snuggling on the sofa with humans
Things he's learning:
-to play with toys
-to chew on appropriate items. He's shown a desire to chew on rugs, pillows, books, magazines, his crate (most anything made of metal) and fingers. When given a chew toy he will show a little interest, still working to find the right chew toy for his use
-to sit (this is coming quickly)
Bam Bam is becoming what a "real dog" in rapid fashion. He's responding to commands, reacting appropriately to the messages coming from his foster family's pack. This morning, after our feeding routine (this is a task as I have 4 dogs, 4 different foods and various meds, eye cleanings/drops, etc), I sat on the floor with him as he wanted affection. He put his paws on my shoulders and nuzzled his face against mine; it felt like a hug! Granted, he needs to learn his own strength but it was a powerful moment. He's a doll and with a bit of work, he'll make a great family member. Wow!
He's fearful of loud or sudden noises (thunder, fireworks).
