Bella
Intake Date: July 16, 2016
Last Update: 9/19/2016 Date Available: 10/3/2016 Moved to Pending on 10/19/2016 Age: 3 (approximate) DOB: Hey, your guess is as good as mine, but I'm about 3-years old, that much is true. Gender: female Weight: I weigh around 35 pounds and growing. Energy Level: I'm pretty much a fun loving gal that likes to play from time to time, but I sure do love to sleep too. When I get outside, I want to run like the wind and it's good for me too! Color & Markings: fawn Good with other dogs: I'm great with other dogs, and I would do well with them; assuming you do a slow introduction. I have to get to know these new K9's and it's better I do it in my own way over time. HOWEVER, I do like my food. So, if they come near my food, we have a problem. For this, my foster mom says it's best you go on ahead and feed me separately from other dogs. Good with cats: What's this cat you are speaking of? I know no Cat....I've never interacted with one before, so this continues to be a mystery. Good with kids: My foster human brothers are over the age of 12, so we aren't really sure how I would be with little kids. It might be best we stick to 8+, just in case they are ornery. Plus, the BBR people told me it's a rule, and rules while made to be broken, they can't in the case of kids, we must protect them! I'm always good, so it wouldn't be me-probably the kid :) Object Aggression: The only object I do not want my fur-siblings going near is my food. It's my food, mine, mine, mine. I'm gonna eat it, love it, digest it, and love it again next time it's time to eat! I'm not sharing it, no sir, no way. Special Needs: I have eye drops that I will need to take for the rest of my life. I also have allergies that require medications. Medications: Tacro 2x a day for my eyes and Apoquel for my allergies, I take that bright and early. Crate Trained: I haven't spent much time in a crate. I sleep on a dog bed with my fur-foster bro's, and I have no issues doing that. I prefer that actually. House Trained: Yes I am, can I just say it's pretty rude to ask a lady about her bathroom habits, GOSH...but I am, I am fully house trained. Physical Fence Required: Yes, I'm super fast and I love cars, so for an added layer of safety a fence and strict supervision is required to be my forever home. Adoption donation: $500.00 My ideal home would be: So a little about me, I'm an energetic girl but boy oh boy do I LOVE snuggles. I like to wake up in the morning, get my love in with my humans and move on to breakfast! I eat super fast so I eat from a slow-feed bowl. You may think this is silly, but it has done wonders for my health. It would be perfect if my future home would leave me on the slow-feed bowl for life. It stimulates my brain and also keeps my digestive health positive. See how smart I sounded there? That's from my stimulated brain! Oh, and don't fill up the water bowl for me. I take it in too quickly. Keep just enough for me to have a few drinks, it's okay to take a break and refill after a bit. I love being outside if I get to play with other dogs. I will run outside handle my potty business and run back in if no one is out there to interact with! When I arrived at BBR, I wasn't sure what all the fuss was over toys, but now I see it more than ever! These things are FANTASTIC! I even play fetch with the humans in my house. No, I'm not great, but someday I want to be, and I'm sure my ideal home will keep me on track with this! I'm a very typical English Bulldog, I love what is not great for me! I LOVE THE SUN. I will lay in the sun and bask in it all day if you let me. My pesky foster mom is always reminding me to get in the shade or go inside after brief moments in the sun. She claims it's bad for me, my skin, my breathing, my health, blah, blah, blah. So my foster mom is forcing me to tell you that it's best you keep an eye on me when I'm in the sun and work really hard to keep me nice and cool. I think it's important that I follow my foster mom and the other humans around and monitor all that they are doing. You see, they may need my advice, my suggestions, my feedback. So, you will likely find me under your feet on a regular basis. I'm sure it will drive you super crazy when you're trying to clean the house, but hey, it's important I'm near you. VERY! So for this reason it's probably not a really good idea for me to go live with someone who is unsteady on their feet and not very active. I wouldn't want to see anyone get hurt. I take this really awesome medication called Apoquel. This stuff is AMAZING, you hear me? AMAZING....Also, I have a special medicated shampoo bath that keeps me looking oh so fresh and so clean-clean! It's important that my future family keeps an eye on scraps of food lounging around. One wrong turn and my allergies will flare up! Oh, this is important. I LOVE THE CAR. If you open a car door and I'm nearby, I'm jumping in. Just be warned. I love car rides, car seats, car engines, and just cars in general. So I really want an active family that will let me hang out, go for rides, and will play with me! I'm a cuddle bug, so as long as you are okay with my forever out tongue and an ocean of drool, I'm the gal for you! If you apply to adopt me, be prepared for super sloppy kisses, a nice big hug, and a wiggle butt for days! |
