Brick
Intake Date: 8/15/2016
Last Update: 9/7//2016 Date Available: 9/7/2016 Age: I'm Approximately 3 years old DOB: I don't know my birthdate, but count backward by 3 and we are getting closer! Gender: Male Weight: 55 lbs Energy Level: Medium, I love my walks, but I like to take my time and stop and smell the roses, or all of the things really! Color & Markings: I'm white, but I have this super attractive brindle all over my fur too! Good with other dogs: Yep! My foster mom says that I love my foster brother, a fellow EB. We cuddle, play tug of war and wrestle. Good with cats: So, here is the thing about me and cats. I don't hate them, but "good", well..... they tell me it's not nice to chase them and play with them like they are a ball. I don't think I would ever hurt one on purpose, but you should know they defintely peak my interest :) Good with kids: (Brick will only be considered for families with children ages 8+ due to new policy implemented by the board of Buckeye Bulldog Rescue on 9/8/2016) Foster mom says that I am a gentle giant and have done well being around kids! I even got to newborn sit, I was an excellent sitter and showed them how to nap by napping beside their cribs! When I take my walks and come across children I will patiently sit while they adore me, I love the attention! I do get a little overexcited while playing though and sometimes will jump up for a toy. Object Aggression: I haven't shown any aggression towards object, but if I see a toy I get super excited and charge it! Special Needs: My biggest special need is your time and attention! Oh and I like air conditionining in this hot weather, I love short walks, but not on a beach, I'm a bulldog, I would likely sink. I also like good food, nothing that is icky and not good for my physique and skin! Medications: Like all bulldogs, I could benefit from a joint supplement every day, and monthly heartworm preventative, but as of right now, I don't have any! Crate Trained: I don't love my crate, but if my foster mom gives me a treat I will go in. House Trained: I am a house trained rockstar! I haven't had a single accident at foster mom's! Physical Fence Required: I do love being outside and exploring, because of that I think I would love to have a home that has a fenced in yard. That way I am free to roam and investigate all the things. Adoption donation: $700.00 9/7/2016: Now that I have had some awesome quality time with my amazing foster mom the folks at BBR know just what I need. Foster mom says that I am the sweetest gentle giant and I love my humans and love to cuddle with them, so I will need a home where my humans will love and adore me. I am your typical bulldog, I snore, I love belly rubs (who doesn't?) I love taking walks so I can do all of the neighborhood investigating. I like to take my time to stroll while investigating, so you have to be able to let me do my thing. I must stop and talk to all of the people that I meet while walking and smell all of the things. So my family must be patient with that. On top of that it is super important that I maintain my girlish figure with walks as exercise, foster mom says I am down 2 lbs! Even though I love my walks I need a family that knows when a walk is a good idea! Sometimes when its too hot outside or I get too excited I have a little trouble breathing, so make sure you keep an eye on me and know when I have had enough before I do. Right now I live with a foster brother and I love him. I like to play, wrestle and cuddle. Foster mom says that I would do okay in a hime with other dogs, or one with out so I can soak up all of the human attention. I love to be as close as possible to my humans to get lots of love. I am a very sweet docile guy, I am looking for my fur ever family to curl up beside and rest my bully head on your lap! I am pretty happy as long as people pet me and tele how cute I am! 8/16/2016: My ideal home based on the limited information I have shared with the awesome humans at BBR is...A home that has one or two adults (and maybe some kids) who are interested in spending time with me. I like human attention, and I'm not really in the market for someone who isn't interested in a companion! I would also really like a home that knows how special bulldogs are, and that changing "forever" homes defeats the definition of "forever". My ideal adoptive home will plan to keep me forever, through thick and thin and definitely sign me up for some certified training! That can never be a bad thing! My ideal home will have Central AC, easy access to water for me to slurp, and will feed me quality food! In a perfect world you will have a dog savvy cat that can tolerate my love and affection toward them. Obviously, if you don't have a cat, that's even better for everyone's sanity! |

Intake info: Brick was given to a very nice lady that lived on a farm with her children and other dogs. She tried to keep Brick, but she felt like he needs more attention than she had time to give him. She actually said that if she had one less kid or dog, she would have loved to keep him (she's joking about the kid, obvi!!). The wonderful and caring woman who surrendered Brick to us indicated that he does great with other dogs, kids, and strangers, but defintely is peaked in interest by cats. She said that he licks them when he's able to even catch one, and then lets them go. Brick just came in yesterday and more information will be made available on him as we get to know him better.
