My ideal home would be: Hi there, I’m Bruno. I’m a lovable guy who is 4 years old going on 10! My ideal home would be one with older kids that won’t expect much out of me. I don’t really play much, I’m pretty lazy and for the most part I’m just happy laying around watching TV with you preferably on the couch next to you. I pretty much have a bum leg and can’t jump up on furniture so I’ll give my saddest Ewok face or puppy face (whichever you prefer) until you pick me up, set me next to you, and start petting me. When I’m feeling silly, you will know it because I’ll grab your hand with my mouth, roll around on my side and back. I’ll want to play with you so you might want to give me a toy since sometimes I can bite a little hard and I get confused. I like bones but they have to be big ones about the size of your hand and I cannot have rawhides. I like to have a quiet, safe place so a medium size crate is nice with a thick bed in it is good since I’m a little arthritic but you don’t have to lock me in cuz I’m a good boy! Also, I will come to you with a super soft blanket of my own that I like to have with me. I keep this on the floor in the most active place you are so when I feel like not being alone and being near you, I’ll lay on by you on the floor (of course unless you want me on the couch). I do need a bath once a week and dried really good under my armpits and my paws. My ears and nose rope stay pretty clean so just wipe them out along with my tail when I get my bath. Oh and try not to cut my nails short. My previous owners were not good about cutting my nails so they kinda have to stay a little long. I don’t mind other dogs at all, but if they get snappy with me, I will put my paw on their back and push them to the ground. But, I don’t bite and I don’t fight. I like everyone! And I don’t care if you put a coat on me if it’s cold outside but, my feet are sensitive so easy on the hot ground in the summer. I wake up at 6am. I get 1 measured cup of food for breakfast with my meds and then I go outside to potty. At 4:00pm I eat another 1 measured cup of food and go outside and potty again. All kinds of other stuff happens through out the day but I just wanted to tell you when I eat and poop. Oh and I LOVE CHEESE! So watch your fingers!
So there you have it, there is the “gist” about me. Hopefully you and I are a good match and you turn out to be my forever family and I turn out to be the dog you’ve always wanted!

Intake info: Bruno comes to BBR as an owner surrender due to extreme issues with his skin. He is currently at the vet to determine what treatments he will need to get him back in top shape to find is forever home.
10/30/2015: Bruno does great with other dogs. No aggression towards them. He's a lazy lovable guy. He's not a fan of the grass but he will go in it briefly to go potty. He prefers the indoors. Bruno loves to sit next to you on the couch and sleep in bed with you. He's very snugly.
11/13/2015: Bruno is a pretty lazy guy. He will play with a toy but he does get excited and sometimes doesn't know what's the toy or your hand. He prefers to lay around and do almost nothing most of the day. He does have pee accidents in the house from time to time but mostly because he does not like to go outside. He is beginning to re-grow hair and is looking more handsome daily!
12/17/2015: Bruno is making a little progress going potty outside. We have found that carrying him to the back of the property, setting him down, and petting him until he feels comfortable is really helping. Once he is comfortable, he will eliminate himself. At that point we play a game in which we race back to the house with much praise and excitement! Bruno does have a habit of "marking his territory" in the house. He would do best with a home that does not have or has little carpet due to his marking. It's also best to keep him on a potty schedule as with any dog.
12/28/2015: Bruno is now doing great on a Raw Diet. By feeding him Basic Instinct Raw Venison, it has eliminated all of his scratching and his breath and coat look amazing! He now has full re-growth of all of his hair! His armpit wrinkle and his fused paw do get a little sweaty from sleeping on them but sprinkling corn starch on there eliminates the sweatiness without causing any irritation. He's very much a family dog and loves going for car rides and long ones! He's happy whether he's in the back, the front, or squished in the middle. He did see Santa with several other dogs and did very well. He listens amazingly and his foster family thinks he would be an amazing therapy dog!
1/5/2016: Bruno is now perfectly comfortable with walking outside on his own and going potty. He is no longer "marking" in the house and no longer having accidents or going potty in the house at all! This boy has come a long way! Bruno has no problems with snow and actually goes outside with no hesitations at all in the snow.
1/19/2016: Bruno takes 1/2 pill of Apoquel 1x per day, and eats Nature's Valley Instinct Raw Venison food. A lot of his issues are from just plain old bad breeding. No more licking of the paws or scratching. Bruno's allergies are food related and he would need a full allergy panel test done but his doc says that may not even nail it down. Bruno needs weekly baths since he does get a little sweaty under his belly when he sleeps. He loves to go for car rides and will be your co-pilot everywhere you go.
2/18/2016: Bruno is doing great on his Raw Venison food but you must know that this food comes frozen and in a 4 pound bag. He gets one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening. A 4 pound bag lasts 5 1/2 days. This food is roughly $29 per bag. We did find that Pet Supplies Plus can order the kibble which is a little less expensive and comes in a 6 pound bag. Also, Bruno did a BBR event over the weekend and had such a wonderful time! He loved all of the attention he received and slept for hours afterwards!
3/15/2016: Bruno is now on Taste of the Wild's new Venison formula and doing fantastic! He's eating one full cup in the morning and one full cup in the evening. Dr Randy now has Bruno taking one 200 mg Ketoconazole and 16 mg Apoquel 1x per day in the morning and we've finally got him on a regimen of meds and food that are perfect for him! Bruno has been a bit sad since the snow is gone, this boy is a snow lover, but we are hoping to find some Spring things to do that he will like just as much! But I will say, rain is not one of them :-(
