Brutus
Intake Date: July 2, 2016
Last Update: July 28, 2016 Date Available: Estimated Age: 5 DOB: June 27, 2011 Gender: Male Weight: 64 pounds Energy Level: Low & I struggle with stairs. My energy level is so low, that you will have to really keep me on a strict quality diet to keep weight managed. Color & Markings: Brindle and White Good with other dogs: yes Good with cats: yes, ignores them Good with kids: Brutus is a laid back guy, he's not really the "play with me little kid" type of fella'! Object Aggression: He will fuss with this leash for a few seconds and then he fine, no growling or biting Special Needs: Moderate calorie food for weight loss / luxating patellas Medications: Tacrolimus, Optixcare and Levothyroxine. Brutus will also need a quality Joint Supplement daily. Crate Trained: yes House Trained: yes Physical Fence Required: no Adoption donation: TBD My ideal home would be: I really need a place without stairs. I can do one or two pretty well but more than that is hard for me (those darn knees will act up) I really love my couch time but I will always need help getting on the couch (I am kinda short). I love to look out the french doors at my foster's house so being able to see outside would be great. I used to spend long stretches of time alone but I prefer not to. I can do it, but it makes me kinda sad. So a place where you aren't gone all day or if you work from home would be excellent. I do sleep a lot but I am a quiet sleeper (I know hard to believe for a bully) so I wouldn't disrupt your work. I like other dogs (and cats too) but I would need a dog sibling as laid back as me. Too much rough housing just wipes me out. Don't know much about kids but since I am really laid back (some may say lazy) and kids aren't laid back not sure if living with kids would be the best. I am really not an outside guy. I'll go for short walks (I mean really short) and then I want to come right back in so a fenced yard wouldn't be necessary. I don't play much I would rather sit and have you scratch my ears. I do like to carry around tennis balls and if I could have an elk bone I would be really happy. I also like socks and underwear if I can get them. Take me home and I will let you give me belly rubs and make you happy by just being around me. I greet everyone with a happy face. Love to be with my people. I will follow you around the house so we can hang out. I can also be a big couch potato (but I need help with getting on the couch though) I really like my head and ears scratched. I really like to sleep, but since I had my nares surgery I really don’t snore! I like to take walks but I don’t like to go far. With my recent weight loss, I am moving a lot better. I will go out and do my business whenever you bring it up but I won’t tell you I need to go out. I will go out do my business and come right back in. There were a couple of small accidents in my crate the first few of days but now that never happens and no accidents in the house outside my crate. I have been a good eater and I tolerate my eye medicine pretty darn well. I sleep all night in my crate, it’s pretty comfy in there. I don’t really play a lot, a little fetch, it’s just not my thing. I do like to carry tennis balls around and I love to chew on my elk antler. I know sit and I come when you call my name. I have been trying to learn to shake but it’s not going so well. I think I would appreciate a quieter household it seems to fit my laid back personality. |
