Bubba

Intake Date: August 1, 2016
Last Update:  August 3, 2016
Date Available: 9/7/2016 We will begin accepting applications. Moved to Pending, 10/19/2016
Age:  They tell me that I'm around 2 years old, but I don't feel a day over 2 months :)
DOB: 07/29/2014
Gender: I'm a boy, all dude.
Weight: I'm 67 pounds of meaty squishiness.
Energy Level: I LOVE THE ZOOMIES! I take naps, I like to chill, but 2-3X a day I get the zooms and I go, go, go until it' stime to chill again! Because naps!
Color & Markings: All this handsome comes in a Fawn and White package.
Good with other dogs:  Here is how I feel about other dogs, I think aggressive male dogs are NO BUENO, they make me fearful and I become timid and tense. Can you blame me? No one wants to feel bullied. The thing is, I tend to just prefer to be independent from other dogs because humans are my cup of tea. So, I'm gonna pass on other dogs, it's a hard no for me. Please don't hold that against me though, I think everyone has a moment of wishing they were an only child :)
Good with cats: Cats, they are so moody. They act all superior and as if they are higher on the food chain. As if...So, I like to chase them! I don't hurt them, I just chase them, so again, a hard no on cats for me.
Good with kids: Children ages 12+, You know those Zoomies I mentioned? Well, sometimes I don't know my own strength and can get a tad carried away. I don't want to hurt any small children, I just think I'm a tea cup poodle from time to time. So, I'd prefer a home with big kids or maybe no kids.
Object Aggression:  What's this object aggression you speak of? I don't mind if my humans come near my stuff!
Special Needs: I have these things called Idiopathic head tremors. Don't be afraid! I'm not, and they are already better as I grow into a big strong fella. I've only had one since being in my foster home, YAY! The nice people who run BBR wanted me to tell you to check out this site as it has some awesome information about this condition. https://baggybulldogs.wordpress.com/2014/11/05/head-tremors/
I'm really looking forward to having, High Quality Grain Free Diet with daily joint supplements in my new forever home! Quality over Quantity, that's what I always say!
Medications:  I have these wrinkles and folds and a tail pocket that needs cleaned daily. It's no big, I'm a bulldog, you'll have that! Good news? I'm not on any current medication(s) beyond daily joint supplement, monthly heartworm preventative, and montly flea and tick preventative. All of this is to help me to be healthy and have a full life.
Crate Trained: My space! Crates are good! Yes!
House Trained: I'm a bit timid when out and about, so I run out to do my business and right back in! Sometimes I have accidents in the house, because I'm a work in progress, but my foster mom says I'm doing great!
Physical Fence Required: Nah, I don't need a fence! I'm not really fond of leaving my humans sides. I like it inside much more than I like it outside. I think it will take time for me to get used to being comfortable in unknown places, but I do like to take walks 2-3X a day (when I can, sometimes it's too hot), but I definitely want to go right back inside when I'm all done with my walk. I pretty much just want to hang with my people.

Adoption donation: $600.00

My ideal home would be:

I want to be KING OF THE WORLD....Or just the apple of your eye, so I really think it would be great if I'm the only pet in the house. I got so much love to give that I think you will feel complete with just me! I love spending time with my family and I really want a family that is patient and loving. You see, when people aren't so nice to you in the past, you become afraid. I want someone to hang in there and make their home my last stop. I can tell you that my foster parents absolutely adore me and tell me that I deserve all the love that my family can muster. I think it would be great if you could hire a certified trainer for me! One of the nice ladies at Buckeye Bulldog Rescue says that a certified trainer is like my own personal counselor, someone who can help me learn the ways and some manners. I'm a bit timid and need to learn how to manage my feelings and my fears. I really think charm school would be fun, but I don't think that's an option since I walk on all fours. Poo.

I would love a home where my people know that I'm trying my best to overcome some of my past issues and I have a hard time trusting some people. Sometimes deep or husky voices like human men carry around with them make me a little timid. I really hope whoever adopts me will be patient and loving while I work on this. Once I trust you though, I'm your BEST FRIEND FOR LIFE! I will follow you around the house and pretty much anywhere you go. I want to rest my head on your lap and that means I really hope you want me on that couch with you!

I know you probably think I'm weird because I'm a bit afraid of other dogs, but I haven't really gotten to know any that I like and that make me feel confident. So, I don't really want to hang out with them in my house. It's okay that they exist, but I'm more interested in being your companion than theirs!

I'm super smart and I already know several commands. I'm even learning how to walk on the leash and each time I practice I'm getting better and better!

UPDATE: 8/29/2016
Bubba shows signs of fear aggression and is a bit shy and timid. His foster mom feels that other dogs and cats are not a good idea for Bubba. Bubba is easily spooked and his foster mom is working on this with him. When Bubba wants to play he will play HARD and therefore; no children under the age of 12. Bubba is strong and wilful and wants to play, he needs to learn some manners. Bubba would benefit strongly by working with a certified trainer.
Intake info:

Say hello to Bubba!  He is an owner surrender and he is hoping to work on his manners at his new foster home to get ready for his forever home.  As we learn more about Bubba, we will update everyone here!
