Charles Barkley
Intake Date: September 2, 2016
Last Update: Date Available:10/15/2016 Age: I came full force into this world on 3/2/2013 which makes me just about 3.5 years old now! I'm such a young buck. DOB: 3/2/2013 Weight: I'm a super healthy 55 pounds of hunka chunka lovin'. At least that is what all the ladies in my life tell me. Energy Level: I'm the most chill dude you will ever meet. I have low-energy and "playing" this is something I'm not sure I do. They tell me it's a "thing" and I might when I find myself adjusted in my forever home, but as of today, I enjoy a nice chew toy (durable of course), and to lounge and relax. Color & Markings: I'm Fawn & White and it's just so attractive on these beefy bones of mine. Good with other dogs: I do quite well with other dogs. I really enjoy getting to know them. Actually unless I'm in my crate and another dog is enjoying his/her freedom that is the only time I seem to show any interest. Good with cats: I have not had much exposure to these furry little felines. I'm such a chill guy, so a cat may be possible for me, but we can't know for sure until I'm exposed. Good with kids: You see, I'm a shy kind of guy. I'm not really sure I like the activity levels that little kids bring to the table. I have been around children and don't really have much interest, but I'm looking for a home with kids ages 8+ and children that will respect me when I want some quiet time. Object Aggression: My foster mom tells me that I don't seem to be interested in getting aggressive over much, and so far I have shown no signs of object aggression. Special Needs: I'm just like any other pup that comes with wrinkles and special consideration. I need my facial folds, my tail pocket, and any other wrinkles you find cleaned regularly if not daily. I also need to eat a high quality/grain free diet. This means that my food can't be purchased at the nearest Giant Eagle, Wal-Mart, Piggly Wiggly, Acme (You get it, chain grocery stores), it has to be purchased from a petstore and I'm sure my foster mom can tell you what I like. Current Medications: I will need monthly heartworm and flea and tick preventative. I also need a quality joint supplment to keep my joints healthy. Crate Trained: My crate is my space. I love it. I need it for my peace of mind. I spend a lot of time in it (by choice of course), but maybe once I'm more comfy in my forever home, maybe I will spend less time in there. I am definitely crate trained. House Trained: I am fully house trained. I'm still a boy so don't be surprised if when I arrive, I leave one little mark just to let everyone know I have arrived. Physical Fence Required: No, I don't need a fence. I'm not going anywhere, I do like a little privacy, so it would be great if you could hold my leash and turn your back so I can take care of business :) Adoption Donation: TBD |

My Ideal Home:
So, let's talk about this ideal home of mine. As I said, I like the quiet and calm of a lazy house, but because I'm a bulldog, I hope to find a home with someone who will take me on walks and keep me at a healthy weight. I really want a family that will love me and allow me to just be me. I don't want to be pressured to be a dog that likes to run, play, or take agility training. I'm just as happy to sleep, cuddle, and show you all of my adorable ways. I really want a home that plans to keep me around for the rest of my life. I'm taking time to adjust to these different places, but I don't feel like I'm "home" yet. I need to have my own space and see the faces of the people who love me every single day. I also need to find a family that I can build a bond and trust with. I'm not really sure that I'm not going to be abandoned again, and I need some time to get to know you. I'm a snuggle bug, and I hope that you will love having me in your home. My ideal home will get me regular vet care, value the process of not letting me get fat since I'm low energy, a family who will make sure that all of my needs are met, and make me a priority, I haven't had that, and it sure sounds nice.
