I get along with: Almost everyone! Dogs, people, kids are all awesome. Cats, I'm not too sure about. I love to chase them, that's for sure.
My ideal home: A fenced yard, no cats, a playful dog sibling (or more than one) & people to give me hugs. I’m a jumper, so any fence/gates should be high.
My ideal adopter: My people will need to be willing to work with me on my social skills & house training.
Additional info you might want to know about me: Hi, I'm Darby. I'm a very high-energy girl that plays hard and loves hard!
I'm still working on learning a few things, like how to tell the peoples that I need to go outside to potty and how to focus on what the peoples are saying to me even if there's something happening that's really exciting, like a kitty walking around, or another dog to play with. I'm a quick learner, though. When I got to the foster home I already knew sit, how to walk on a leash and that once we got outside it is a good time to potty. In the short amount of time I've been here, I'm learning that when the peoples leave they are definitely coming back, that jumping on the peoples is frowned upon, and that when you do what the peoples ask you get a treat. I'm so on board with a good treat.
I like to play. A lot. My brother Gator and I are here together, and sometimes I need to remind him who's the boss: Me. You'd think my foster brothers would watch and learn, but you know how boys are. So once I'm tired of their foolishness, I'll go relax and snuggle with the peoples.
I would really love a family that has time to refine my manners and keep up with me—I have lots and lots of energy. I'm a fast runner and a high jumper and I am determined. But you will be rewarded with the best cuddles around, I promise.
