May 30 update & Bio: Doug the expert cuddler is a happy boy and loves to be around people. He LOVES to play with balls – footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, etc., he loves them all. Once he has the ball, he will likely try and keep it to himself.
He gets along great with other dogs, cats, kids… everyone. We recommend for kids 5 and older because he gets excited around some toys and cannot always distinguish between what are his toys verses those that belong to others. He is not aggressive at all – he just forgets how big he is when he is playing.
He was an owner surrender only because his previous owner was moving and accepted a job that required frequent international travel. He has transitioned very well into his foster home and has become like family. He walks great on a leash and behaves well wherever we take him. He has a beautiful coat and sheds less than his foster sister. He has some arthritis in his back legs, which does not slow him down from anything. He still lays down and plays like his is a puppy. If he has a very active day you will notice he is slow to move around the next day and may favor one of his hind legs.
He came to us house-trained and crate-trained and has had zero accidents in the house. This loving boy will make himself right at home. If you are interested, he would love to sit on the couch or snuggle in bed with you. He has his own bed in the bedroom right next to me and he is very comfy and pleased to be close by.
He lets out the occasional bark just to remind us that he is here. When we get home from work he is always happy to see and greet everyone. His whole butt gives a wiggle. We love this fella – he is a seriously cool dog!
May 12 update: This sweetheart is an absolute lover. He is very friendly and just loves to be around people, pets, kids, etc. He walks beautifully on a leash. You can see a little arthritis in his hind legs, but that doesn't stop him and he is happy taking the stairs and he's very playful. He enjoys going through his toy box and finding something to play with. He loves belly-rubs and is a joy to hang with!
Intake info : Please meet Doug! This handsome fellow was an emergency surrender because his owner was moving across country & taking a new job which will require extensive long-tern travel. She had made other arrangements to re-home him, but that fell though, so she contacted us. Doug is a very nice boy, and has been very well loved and taken care of. He's currently in his foster home & we will post more updates as we get to know him better.
