Dozer
Intake Date: 6/10/2017 Last Update: 6/22/2017 Date Available: 7/3/2017 Age: Approximately 6-years old DOB: The day I came to be on this lovely planet is unknown, but I think whatever day I'm adopted we should do a "Twofer", celebrate my birthday and my "gotcha" day! Gender: I'm a handsome study male pup! They say I look like Yoda though. I think it's the ears! Weight: I'm around a solid 50 pounds of handsome beefiness. Energy Level: I'm pretty active when I want to be! You can see I like balls! I also like to lounge and relax too! Color & Markings: I'm mostly white with large brown and brindle patches, and I'm super dooper adorable. Can go to a home with other dogs: I do okay with other dogs in short spurts. I'm better off as an only dog, especially as I adjust to this new "one eye" life! Can go to a home with cats: I do not like cats, and I will chase and chase and chase them! Good with kids: BBR Policy states no children under the age of 8+ so, my ideal home will have: Children over the age of 8, are good for me! I don't know my own size, and I tend to run over kids! Object Aggression: I love food, my previous owners said, I'm highly food driven. So, since I will be an only dog, it's okay because I will eat my food alone. I will let you take the ball from me and other toys, so I'm not aggressive at all with big humans! Special Needs: I had Enucleation surgery to remove one of my eyes that was damaged, and I'm feeling much better now! I'm still adjusting to the world as a one eyed pirate pup! I require a high quality, grain free, limited ingredient diet. Many foster parents with Buckeye Bulldog Rescue use Natural Balance, Sweet Potato & Venison! Medications: Monthly flea, tick, and heart worm preventative. I could also benefit from a daily probiotic & a daily joint supplement. Crate Trained: I'm fully crate trained, and do better in there than if you try to confine me behind a gate in another room! House Trained: Yes, I'm house trained, but like any dog moving to a new home, my new home might expect that I could have an accident or two as I adjust. Physical Fence Required: I don't really run around and test limits outside. I like to be near my humans as I navigate the world. I would be okay without a physical fence, but it's important that I am on a leash and walked regularly for exercise! Adoption Donation: $400.00 Prior to applying to adopt Dozer please review our adoption process on our website with rules and process information.

My Ideal Home:
From Dozer's Foster Mom:
"Dozer is a lovable, lug of a dog. The type that brings a smile to your face, maybe even a giggle once you set eyes on him. Gentle and kind, he is content to be near his humans with just an occasional request for a few kind words along with a pet or a scratch. Dozer is low energy most of the time, but enjoys an occasional walk or game of fetch. He loves his ball! He is content to enjoy the confines of his home & yard whiling away the day napping or playing quietly with his toys. He love the outdoors, but seems to just enjoy lying in the grass or on the deck catching some sun. He is not one to say “no” to a meal , he will sit quietly while you hand him a treat. Dozer would make an ideal sidekick to a homebody or a social butterfly. He enjoys his quiet time, but always welcomes visitors."
Intake info:
Dozer's family surrendered him because with two young children and working too many hours outside of the home, they didn't feel he was getting the attention he deserves. Dozer is a happy and friendly boy and loves to get all of the attention. He has accidents in the house from time to time, but is mostly potty trained according to the family who surrendered him. The family indicates that Dozer does love food and is always under foot in the kitchen. He will jump up and take food out of children's hands if he is able to get to it. He does not always get along with other dogs, but this will be assessed in his foster home.
