My likes: I like to be with people and to get lots of love and attention. I also like food (and eating it very quickly!), so I have a slow feeder that helps me slow down. I’m not super interested in toys but I do like to chew on my bone once in awhile.
My dislikes: I don't like being bossed around (who does?), so I get grumpy when other dogs are dominant or show aggression. I like to be in charge, but I can get along with anyone willing to share that role with me or be my sidekick. I'm a social guy though; I don’t like to be alone and would much rather spend time with people.
I get along with: I get along with pretty much everyone, with the exception of my foster kitty sister (I like her a lot but she doesn’t like me, can you believe that?!). I love people both big and small. And I get along well with my canine foster sisters! It took me a little longer to warm up to one of them because we are both large-and-in-charge dogs, but after just a few short weeks we play and nap well together.
My ideal home: My ideal home will have people who have lots of time to pet, cuddle and play with me. I love to be with my people and I LOVE getting pets. A fenced yard would be great so I can run and play for a little bit outside, but I’d also be happy going on leash walks. My ideal home would also have a crate for me because I’m used to sleeping in my crate (but I also love napping with my people) and being crated when my people are away.
My ideal adopter: My ideal adopter is someone who wants lots of companionship from me! I love to be near my person and get pets. I get so very excited when you first get home from being away that I do jump on people when first out of my crate. I’m working very hard with my foster family to not jump and will need someone who can be patient and continue to work with me on this. I will also need someone to take me to regular vet visits for anal gland expressions and to be diligent in giving me my daily vitamins.
Additional info you might want to know about me: I'm just a guy who loves love! If you aren’t petting me enough I will gently pat you with my paw and remind you I am there.
