Intake Date: 4-22-19
Origination Place: Berlin, Ohio
Last Update: 5-18-19
Age: 5 (estimated)
Weight: 24.2 lbs
Energy Level: medium. Spurts of high energy when playing but mostly content hanging out with the humans
Color & Markings: Cream and White (Lemon Pied)
Good with other dogs: I would do best with a beta fur-sibling (no alphas-please)! I would also be content in an only dog home where I could be the apple of my paw-rents eye! After a two week slow intro period, I have found a new buddy in my foster brother, Gizmo. Gizmo is a beta frenchie and when I first met him I would growl and occasionally charge at him. However, once I got to know him and we developed trust, we became fast friends. We like to play together, go on walks and peacefully enjoy each other's company. I have another foster brother, Gimli, who is an alpha. Gimli and I have to be monitored but are co-existing with less and less issues. Interested adopters would need to take a slow intro process seriously.
Good with cats: Unknown - foster family does not have cats.
Good with kids: BBR Policy states no children under the age of 8+.
Object aggression: I'm not really interested in bones or toys yet. I'm perfectly content laying on the couch or next to my foster parents' feet. I haven't shown object aggression. However, I do get a bit possessive of my foster parents and have been known to "growl" my foster brothers away from the couch when I'm getting belly rubs :)
Special Needs: None noted. Possible environmental allergies needing medication.
Medications: Regular monthly heartworm and flea prevention. My paw pads also are in rough shape so my foster Parents have been using an over the counter "paw soother" to help them heal.
Crate Trained: I protest a bit when being put in my crate (I mean can you blame me? I want to be with my foster paw-rents). Once I'm in my crate, I don't make a peep. I've had a handful of accidents in my crate over the past two weeks so my foster parents are using a potty pad on top of my crate mat while I'm getting house trained.
House Trained: I'm learning quickly that the correct place to go potty is outside. I still have a handful of accidents a day but am making good progress. My adoptive family will need to be very patient with me as I continue to learn to be potty trained.
Physical Fence Required: Not required but preferred. I get the frenchie zoomies and love running around my backyard. I am starting to learn how to walk on a leash and also find leash walks with my foster brother to be delightful!
My ideal home: Hello there! I am Juno (nickname: June Bug). I used to be a puppy mill momma until BBR rescued me and showed me the good life. My personality is developing everyday! I started off as a shy, withdrawn, mill survivor and now am learning to play, enjoy a good belly rub, go on walks and play with my favorite foster brother. I am starting to bloom into a classic frenchie with a little clown personality and have a very sweet demeanor. I would love a family that will spoil me and help teach me how to be a normal dog-o. I need a family that will continue to help me with potty training and teach me commands. I also need patience as I learn how to be a normal dog. I'm still learning things like going up and down stairs and walking on a leash. Recently, I discovered going for a walk around the block is so fun and I would love for my new family to keep taking me on walks so I can get my exercise. I'm a wonderful companion that loves curling up on the couch for a good snuggle. Also - I LOVE belly rubs. I will remind the humans to pet my belly by giving them gentle taps with my paw :)
