My ideal home would be: A home with an active family who doesn't have, or intend on having, children. Lucy likes to take walks and go "bye bye" wherever you will take her. She's awesome on the leash and doesn't get bothered by other dogs or people walking by. Lucy will NOT go to a home with kids; she came from a home who previously had kids and did not do well with them. They explained that they were not sure where the sudden behavior came from but she began lunging at them and growling at fast movements.
When we got this beautiful little girl 4 weeks ago, her Cleopatra nickname came from outsiders calling her that because of her eyes which appears like she has eye liner tattooed on perfectly! She will approach strangers in public for pets, jumps on the couch and lays in your lap, wiggles her bulldog butt all over our home and runs and jumps up and spins for her breakfast and dinner!
Lucy is apprehensive of new people and can be pretty timid at first but has slowly come out of her shell. In typical bulldog fashion, one of her favorite past-times is eating. Don't let her fool you if she acts like she's starving - she's not!.
Lucy's medical records show a history of hives. According to her foster, the hives seem to only appear when she's stressed. She was put on Apoquel by our vets to help with some itching and has done well on that.
Intake info: Say hello to Lucy! All we know so far is that she a sweetheart and seems to do well with other dogs. Lucy is on her way to the vet to get checked and then on her way to her forever home! She comes to us from Detroit Bulldog Rescue who received her as an owner surrender. When the previous foster home (located in Ohio) didn't work out, we offered to move her to one of ours. Rather than bounce her around more than necessary, we said we would take her into BBR so here she is!
