Lukas
Intake Date: 1/7/2017
Last Update: 2/5/2017 Date Available: 2/7/2017 Age: I'm just the perfect age of 5 years and 7 months old, and let me just tell you this, I have come a long way baby! In 5 years, I have lived through the worst of it, and I have come out just the happiest guy regardless of the lemons life has dealt! DOB: May 16, 2011 Gender: Male Weight: I weight 69 pounds, but because I was severely emaciated when arriving in to BBR's care, I can still use a pound or two. I'm a tall fella. Energy Level: I love to play, my energy is somewhere between sleepy and playful. I love to go for car rids, I also can walk forever in colder weather. When it's too hot, like all bulldogs, I struggle to walk too far! Color & Markings: I'm white with fawn markings, but you can still see the abuse and neglect on my fur. Many people don't realize how bad I looked when I came in to BBR last year. BBR and my wonderful foster mom have worked overtime to make sure that I get all the special care I need, and my fur and skin continues to improve daily! Can go to a home with other dogs: I'm great with other dogs, and I really like them. I think that it's always smart to do a slow introduction with me and another dog. I'm great with other dogs, but I do have to say, since my last adopters had to give me back to BBR, I would really like it if you can slowly introduce me to your dogs to make sure they like me too. I want to go to my forever home, and I want it to be truly forever this time. Everyone at BBR tells me I deserve this! Can go to a home with cats: I don't really mind cats and I don't pay much attention to them. Live and let live is what I always say! Good with kids: BBR Policy states no children under the age of 8+ so, my ideal home will have: I'm good with kids, I love to get some good scratches and to cuddle with my humans. I really think children should be ages 10+ to make sure that I'm not "too much" bully for a little person. Object Aggression: I like to share, and my foster mom says I share everything, even my toys and bones! Special Needs: *note from foster mom: Lukas recently had a problem with an impacted bowel. His diet is very important and must be followed closely. Lukas eats Royal Canine Gastro Intestinal dry food because it is low fiber and it is prescription. Medications: *note from foster mom: Eye drops for dry eye, we use artificial tears twice a day. Lukas gets metamucil on his food, and a Lactulose solution and a Probiotic (all to keep his stool soft and flowing correctly) also medicated baths every week or so. The medicated baths will help keep my fur in full recovery! Crate Trained: I do well in a crate, but I'm just as fine when I'm not in a crate, both at night and during the day. House Trained: My foster mom says and I quote "Totally house trained, zero accidents". WOOT WOOT, HOLLA at your boy! Physical Fence Required: I do not require a physical fence, and I sure do like to go on walks with a leash and harness. I just want to be where my people are! Adoption Donation: TBD Prior to applying to adopt Lukas please review our adoption process on our website with rules and process information.

My Ideal Home:
Let me think about this, you see, I thought I had my ideal home, unfortunately my new fur-sister didn't see it that way. I loved my adoptive mom and she loved me... BUT, again that sister of mine got her way and I ended up looking again, so here I am, back with my loving foster family where I plan to stay put until forever really means forever. With that being said, I must say my ideal home would be a forever home fur-real. I'm a sweet lovable guy, who despite my ruff life, I still have a zest for Life..I am happy, happy, happy, all the time. With my background, my happiness brings out the joy in everyone around me! I'm a good boy who listens well, plays well with others, and loves with my whole great-big heart. I will literally be your best friend forever if you let me. Maybe we can get matching charms?! I would love to go for walks with you, take a ride with you, go shopping with you, but be aware I will be the center of attention no matter where we go, and I must stop for all free pets. I will snuggle up and watch a movie with my family, and don't forget nighty night time, I will be cuddled up with my head on your belly, if you let me!
I love my family so very much that I naturally want to protect you and my home. I do not appreciate strangers coming un-announced and if they do you might get a rise out of me, like a bark and I might jump at them making sure they don't get you. This sounds like I'm a bit possessive of my family, but I do love strangers, I love everyone, just not when they sneak up on my mommy and daddy. I think proper introductions at the front door are in order, and I will welcome everyone with big sloppy kisses. My foster mom also needs you to know that due to two bowel impactions within a month of each other, my poopy needs to be closely inspected daily. My food has to be watered down with a couple cups of water and sat out until it soaks up all the water, as well as Metamucil and Lacunose and a Probiotic Powder to keep things moving through as it should. My foster mom has fed me my dry food -1 cup three times a day with all my meds at each meal, and everything is moving along as to he expected. This was a learning process for us all, so mom does this weird thing where she watches me every time I go number 2, to make sure I don't strain and everything is coming out in the right shape and quantity. I'm sorry for the graphic details, but please know it's just so you know how to keep me healthy.
So, if u need the most lovable bulldog boy my foster momma knows, then I am your guy, or if you need someone to make you smile every morning and laugh every evening I too am that boy. Lets make the world a happier place, just you and me!!
