My ideal home would be: a quiet home without kids/teenagers or other animals. One with a fenced in yard and previous bulldog experience
November 15 update: Magoo was adopted out in July to a home with older kids (teenagers). Initially he was doing well. We were told Magoo has an issue toward towels/blankets and the older girl in the home would come out of the bathroom with a towel on her head. We were also told she was not too fond of him. One day when she was wrestling/fighting with her brother that Magoo was quite fond of, Magoo bit her leg. It is for this reason we will NOT adopt him out to a home with children or to a family who expects to have children. Magoo will also require a fenced in yard b/c he does not like other dogs and has gone out of his way to go after a neighbor dog while trying to chase a rabbit. Magoo was quite sad when his adopter dropped him off at our vet and will make a great, loyal companion for the right experienced bulldog owner who has a calmer lifestyle.
July 9 update: Magoo is a very lovable lapdog. He wants to be your best friend and follow you around the house. He will come sit on your lap if you sit on the floor. He has a red ball that he loves to chase around and will drop it and let it bounce by himself so he can chase it. Magoo's manners are excellent. He will come when he is called and he typically will sit if you ask him to. When told no, Magoo stops what he is doing and walks away. He plays hard for about 10-15 minutes at a time and then snores even harder. He likes to run up to someone entering the house to greet them with a wiggly butt. Magoo is a sweet boy and will do well with someone who wants to pet him as much as possible and throw his ball. He does need to be given water slowly when you first get home after he has been left alone as he gets very excited and has a hard time keeping it all down.
Intake info: Magoo comes to us from a Humane Society, where he originally came in as a stray. Magoo was adopted out and returned due to being aggressive with other dogs and knocking down a small child. Magoo is a lot of fun & has a lot of character. He is powerful and does not know his own strength. He needs to go into a home without small children, and will need a home without other dogs. Magoo is still a young man, so he will could benefit from some training and learning some manners.
