My likes: Right away, Max liked being with people - he'll run right up to a new person to see if he can get pet. He's fine around other dogs, although feeding separately is probably a good idea. He loves his food! He's fine on a leash although it seems new to him, he's happy to oblige. He also seems to like toys - balls, squeaky things, bones - a little bit of a hoarder, but doesn't seem to be upset about people or dogs showing interest in "his" things. Max also seems to be able to fetch! He'll gladly run to get you the ball and give it to you very willingly!
My dislikes: Max doesn't love being confined to a room or space and may sometimes share a #1 to let you know. There's no barking or whining, though - he seems to understand it's part of things, it's just not his favorite. He will go down stairs and up a limited number of stairs, but a whole staircase is still overwhelming - he'll follow you down, but then look for assistance to go back up :) Max doesn't love the cold weather, but will still go out for a quick #1 and will even wear a jacket or clothing without fussing (at least not on the outside)
I get along with: Seemingly everyone so far! And if you're a person who wants to cuddle, Max will be your best friend from the get go.
My ideal home: a house, not an apartment. I prefer a yard where I can play supervised, of course, in a fenced in space. Needs some activity and some supervision (is a little bit of a klepto if he finds something he likes), but is very content to stay indoors. Long stretches of time at home alone is something he is working on - sometimes there is an accident, especially when the excitement of someone coming home!
My ideal adopter: Men or women...if you like to cuddle, he's your dog! Max would probably be happiest with owners who are not away all day long.
Additional info you might want to know about me: It is very important for Max's skin issues to be tended to - the daily meds and baths 3-4x a week will be important for his health and well-being. Fortunately, he LOVES baths and will kindly be still for as long as it takes.
