February 19 update:
Maximus is a handsome guy who would fit in well with a family or adults. He wants to be loved and to be near his humans. He will sleep with someone if you allow him too. He loves to play with toys, but content to lay around doing nothing. He's been going to work with his foster Mom. But when left at home does well. He loves his car rides and uses a ramp to get into the car. He is very smart!
December 16 update:
Maximus's update change is only medical. All else the same.
Medically he was started on allergy vaccine on 11/13/15. Vial #2 caused extreme itching of the face & paws. We are still working on clearing up his face. The vet ordered dose lowered and increase at a slower rate. He continues Apoquel 16mg. And requires daily cleaning of face, eyes and paws. Weekly baths and ear cleaning.
Vet staff felt his skin was much improved and no further need for cultures. Max is a loving, fun bully!
Maximus is a handsome guy and super friendly. He loves going for walks and walks well on a leash. Owner reports allergies and skin issues his whole life. Previous owner records were current for vaccines and multiple attempts at skin treatment. Hopefully we can clear his skin, feet and ears up with proper food. He certainly will be a wonderful addition to a loving family. Minimal snoring and drool, how great is that!
Maximus was transported from VCA by my daughter in a crate. Her dog in car too, they traveled well together. Upon arrival here they did show some aggression. When skin issues clear I will reattempt with other dogs. Daughter reports at pick up in VCA cats & dogs were in lobby and no overt aggression shown at that time.
Maximus is a handsome guy and super friendly. He always wants to be with his human. If
you are home and separate him from the family he will let you know he is unhappy. He
barks, sort of in a patient manner to let everyone know he wants your attention. He is
progressing nicely. His hair loss and most of his body lesions have healed. His paws face & ears remain an issue. The plan is to start allergy injection treatment and hopefully resolve
