My Ideal Home:
Hi there! My name is Monroe and I came to BBR from a young, active family who found that they no longer had time for me and were struggling to control my allergies. They wanted me to find a home with a family who has plenty of time to spend on and with me!
I am crossing my paws that my new family is snuggly, because while I do have bursts of energy, I am happiest when I am sitting in your lap! I will even follow you around, just waiting for you to sit down so I can jump up! I do want to spend as much time as I can with you…coffee run? I’ll be in the passenger seat! You want to carry me around (especially down stairs)? Well, that is just fine by me!! Daily walks? Okay, I am happy to do that too!
Overall, I am a sweetheart, a very good girl, quite the little Lady. I don’t mind my crate, and I can also be trusted to be left out because I will not chew or destroy anything. I am potty trained AND I will go to the door to tell you I have to go out. I have also heard that I am quite the pretty girl, but I do have some hair loss due to my allergies. Don't worry, my allergies are under control now, but I will need regular baths, daily face wiping and a special diet. Of course, I love all the pampering and attention…well okay, I don’t LOVE the face wipes. Actually, I don’t even like it. But, I am working on it.
My back legs aren't perfectly straight, and the doc says I may have arthritis one day, but it doesn't seem to stop me. I can certainly chase other animals, no problem. And speaking of other animals… it is best that my new family does not have other dogs or cats. My foster mom says I have “Little Woman Syndrome” with other dogs, and you better believe I will do my best to chase any cats away! Or ducks. And squirrels. Bunnies too. So, if you do not have a fence, I will need to be kept on my leash while outside.
So, that’s me. And I will be here waiting for a family who is ready to dote on me. Maybe that’s you!
