My Ideal Home:
Hi there, I am Monty! I am a year old and I still have LOTS of puppy left in me. I like to spend my days playing with toys, especially the kind that squeak, but my favorite is to play with other dogs!! An ideal home for me will have another young, well socialized, active dog for me to play with and maybe learn a little from too. I can be a rough player and love to steal toys, but I am definitely just having a good time!
I am such a good boy, very eager to please, and I have already learned to sit! But I will need a family who is willing and able to spend the time training me on basic commands, and can dedicate time to my continued potty training, with a schedule. I walk like a champ on leash, but I do not like to potty while leashed. I also love burning off my energy by zooming around outside, so applicants that have a fully fenced yard will be given preference.
About that training… I am as quiet as church mouse if I am in my crate, and my crate will even make me feel safe if I am nervous when I first get to my new home. But, I may leave you a surprise in there and maybe even need a bath when you get home. Good news – I am great in the tub! I have also learned that there are so many fun household items that can become mine, like paper that I can shred, or even the tablecloth pulled straight off the table, so my future family will need to be diligent about ensuring I cannot come across any items that I shouldn’t have if I am left unattended. Like I said, I have LOTS of puppy in me! It's real hard to be upset with a face as cute as mine, especially since I am such a sweetheart. Applicants that have experience with puppy training and/or bulldog training will be preferred.
Another thing I am looking for in a home is willingness to keep me on a high quality, limited ingredient diet to control some skin allergies. Right now I am doing well on a fish based diet but I may do even better on a fresh or raw diet. And boy do I. LOVE. FOOD. And water. And the bowls that they come in ha ha!
Overall, I am a loving dog that enjoys a snuggle and a cuddle from humans, without being clingy. I am sure to bring a lot of joy to my new family, especially if they bring a lot of love and patience to me!
