My Ideal Home:
Hello! My name is Pistol Pete! I am seven years old, but my foster mom says I sure don't act like it! Wanna know how I came by the "Pistol" part of my name? Well, when I first came to BBR, I could be a pistol if you tried to take my toys or my blanket away from me; I might growl or even nip at you, if you tried to touch my toys. My foster mom says its probably cuz when I was at the Shelter, somebody kept taking my toys away from me. I was just afraid of a lot of things; I was afraid that someone would take my blanket and my toys, afraid of having my skin folds and my ears cleaned - why, I was even afraid that I wouldn't get enough to eat!! My foster mom says that is why I eat my food too fast; I don't mean to, but sometimes i eat so fast that I get sick. So, now my foster mom feeds me half of my food at a time, to help me learn to slow down. I have a lot to be proud of, besides being a pretty handsome guy - - I have never had an accident in my crate or in the house; I even let my mom know that I have to go outside by going to the door! I have gotten to be really good about having my folds and ears cleaned ( especially if I get treats!), I am fine with being crated when I am by myself - and I can be ok for up to 8 hours with no accidents! I like to be in the same place as my foster family, but I don't need to be the center of attention all the time. I am getting really good at playing games, and one of my favorites is Tug O War! The thing I love most in the world, is to have my chin rubbed. And if you are going to rub my chin, I am hoping you will throw in a belly rub too!! You might be wondering how I do with other dogs or cats; I am an "only fur-kid" at my foster mom's, and there are no dogs nearby, so my foster mom doesn't know how I might be with other dogs. I think it would be best if I was an "only dog" since I didn’t love other dogs at the shelter. My ideal home will be with a family who will be extra patient and extra gentle with me, so that I can get better at trusting and being comfortable in my own surroundings. Bc of my quirks, a home without kids of any age and who has prior bully breed experience is preferred I could be the dog you have been waiting for - I am right here, waiting for you!! Love, Your Pete (formerly known as "Pistol Pete")
