My ideal home:
Hello! My name is Poppy - I was originally adopted out by BBR in early 2019 but now I’m back and 'm looking for my forever home! I am a sweet, cuddly, and excitable girl, and you would never know I have a heart condition based on my energy and happy temperment.
I like to be queen of the house and have all attention on me, and for that reason I need to be the only dog in the house (it's the reason I am back with BBR).
I am moderately energetic and spend a lot of my days napping, but I will happily go for a walk if the weather permits or play with my toys in the house. Because of my heart condition, I take one pill twice daily and you will need to keep a close eye on my panting and avoid hot weather - I don't know my own limitations!
My favorite activity is being a companion to my housemates, whether that means sleeping by their feet while they work, cuddling them while they watch TV, or sitting patiently in the hope they flip me a scrap of food while cooking dinner (while not a must, I would love it if I had a human companion who is at home all day). I am a food-motivated girl who is quick to learn new tricks and habits if I am rewarded with food and other positive reinforcement.
The person or people who are able to embrace and handle my special needs will be rewarded with a quirky (just look at my photos!) and rambunctious girl who will immediately endear herself and make an impression on everyone she meets.
Adoptive family must agree to continue with her medical care. Adopter with prior English Bulldog or dog with similar medical issues preferred.
