My ideal home would be:
Hi I'm Toby!  I was found as a stray and in pretty bad shape, but so much better now!  Overall I'm a pretty healthy bulldog, my ulcers and infections have gone away and now I just need to gain a few pounds!  I am missing quite a lot of teeth so when you play with me there is no risk of me hurting you. I spend my days following my foster family around, snoozing on the couch and of course eating. I LOVE food!!! I eat three times a day now cause foster mom says I need to get chunky.

I would do best with a low key family that just wants to cuddle me, love me and snuggle.  I love to be touched! I have the cutest little tail and when I see you I get so happy my butt wiggles, foster mom thinks it's funny!

It takes me a little to trust that you won't hurt me. I will flinch if something flies a little too close, but I am learning that not everything is a danger. Well, except for vacuums and lawn mowers – I have to attack those, but who doesn’t? Please be patient with me and I will show you so much love when I get to know you!I love to go for walks since my paws have healed and do very well on my harness and leash!

I don't know how to play yet and because of my lack of teeth prefer soft things to play with.  My foster family is teaching me how to be silly and enjoy myself and because I'm smart I will learn soon! Until then, I'll just relax on the couch and be lazy.

Look for more updates from me soon, xoxo Toby

Update 4/25/16:  My foster family weighed me this weekend and can you believe I weigh 50lbs now?  I'm looking great, filling out and getting some muscle! My foster family has learned that I don't care for really loud noises ( motorcycles, lawn mowers, power equipment, vacuums etc) and if I'm not leashed will try to attack them and hurt myself.  They have been keeping me in safe places when those things are around.

I also wanted everyone to know that I have what is called Idiopathic Head Tremors..it sounds worse that it is.  Basically, my head shakes uncontrollably sometimes.  The docs say there really isn't anything to be concerned with, it just happens with bulldogs sometimes.  When it happens, I can still eat/drink/walk and listen.  The docs say to feed me a dollop of peanut butter or distract me with a  toy and they immediately stop.  My foster mom gave me peanut butter and I was all better in seconds.  Crazy huh?

May 11 update:
We just received some info on Toby and it includes a bite history.  With this news and events with his foster, it be best that Toby be an only dog and in a home without children.  It is possible he was abused before and becomes very anxious with loud noises and chaotic events.  Toby also does not like being in a cage and he will escape, even it is dangerous for him.  Toby is just looking for a low key family where he can relax and enjoy being loved on.
Please consider sponsoring Toby to help with his medical bills.

Intake info: Welcome Toby. Toby comes to us from a shelter after being found as a stray. He's emaciated, has ulcers on all of his paws and doesn't want to move much because of it, his lymph nodes are swollen, he's missing many teeth and has a skin infection, came in with fleas and intestinal parasites, and has arthritis. We are hoping for good news for this guy xoxo

Thank you to my sponsors!:
