Last Update: 07/22/19
Age: 2 yes (estimated)
DOB: Unknown. Let’s just agree that the day I go to my furever home is the start of my new life and use that as my birth date with the birth year 2017.
Energy Level: Moderate/High; being 2 I still have puppy energy and mischievousness, but I'm a very good boy that also loves to relax, cuddle and sleep.
Color & Markings: White/Black
Good with other dogs: Yes, I love them and hope to have furry siblings.
Good with cats: Unknown
Good with kids: BBR Policy states no children under the age of 8+. My ideal home would be a quiet, but still somewhat active home.
Object aggression: None
Special Needs: I’m not sure if you can tell from my pictures, but I had some eye issues going on. They say I have something called dry eye in my right eye, and I need medication for that the rest of my life. My left eye had a corneal ulcer that didn't heal right. They tried to fix it with medication, but the ulcer was old and couldn't be corrected. To help me feel better the doctor recommended my eye be removed. Don't feel bad for me though, I feel so much better. My facial folds need to be cleaned weekly, if not more. I also need a quality food to avoid allergies. Oh, and treats, I love them. I will give you sad eyes to get as many as I can.
Medications: Right now I’m on medication to help with my eyes, Benadryl for allergies, a good joint supplement, along with monthly flea/tick, and heartworm prevention.
Crate Trained: I'm a very good boy in my crate.
House Trained: Working on it
Physical Fence Required: Yes
Adoption donation: $ TBD
My Ideal Home:
Hi there!!! Rumor has it, if you’re looking at my pictures then you might be looking to adopt. If that’s true, let me tell you about myself. My name is Zeus. Like Zeus, the Greek God of the sky. Really, Zeus, in Greek mythology was the ruler of heaven and earth, so maybe my name fits, since my foster mommy says I rule her world. She tells me all the time that I’m the “cutest little wiggle butt”, and she doesn’t know how anyone could have ever let me go. I keep my past a secret, because I don’t want her, or anyone, to be sad. Let’s just say I had a rough start in life. I ended up in a scary place they called a “Dog Pound”. I didn’t know anyone or any other dogs there. It was loud, there weren’t any comfy couches to curl up on and all my doggie friends were confused and scared. I was so happy when the nice people at Buckeye Bulldog Rescue saved me. I’m now in a loving foster home, learning all about life being safe and spoiled. When I was first rescued, I was having some eye issues and I was in pain. I’m sure you can see in my pictures that I wink a lot. Actually, I had something called an ulcer on my eye that was never fixed. When I was rescued they took me to this nice hospital where the loving doctors and staff tried to save my eye, but it was too damaged, so they removed it. Don’t feel sorry for me though, I feel a lot better and I can live out my secret dream of wanting to be a pirate. All I need is the fancy hat, an eye patch and ship. Arrrrrrr…. Learning to live with one eye does have its challenges though. I have to have eye medication for the rest of my life and, until I learn my way around, I do bump into things. Foster mommy teases me and says she’s going to get me a crash helmet. What can I say; I’m so busy looking to the right that I tend to miss what’s right in front of my face. I would love to find a family that has the patience to help me learn my way. I promise I’m trying to learn as quickly as I can. I’m a happy and energetic guy. I’m still young, so I have the energy of a puppy. I love my chew toys and, sometimes, my foster mommy’s slippers. I guess the slippers are a no, no from what she says. Again, I’m learning. Speaking of learning, I have been getting along really well with my furry foster siblings, accept for one little issue. My foster brother and I both love to cuddle with mommy. We both want to lie in her lap and be loved on. The problem is I don’t want to share her attention or lap. If I think he’s coming over to cuddle, I’ll let him know it’s not happening. I’ll growl at him quietly at first, but the closer he comes, the louder I get. He loves everyone, so he ignores me, but I still tell him I’m the boss. Foster mommy immediately stops me and puts me in something called time out. I have to go in a room by myself for a few minutes to think about my poor puppy manners. When I come out, I apologize to my foster brother and we’re fine. Foster mommy says that I’m small, but mighty, so a home with submissive or older dogs that couldn’t care less would probably be best. I also like the lovely ladies the best. I never have a problem with my foster sisters, even when the old grouchy one puts me in my place. It’s just the other furry man in the house. Overall, I’m a playful and loving guy. My heart goes pitter pat and my tail wiggles nonstop, especially when I get kisses. I get to go on walks at night and I love to explore. I’m also working on this potty training thing and have only had a few accidents.
If I sound like the perfect little guy for you, please apply and we can start a lifetime of memories.
Puppy love and sloppy kisses,
