Read on to learn more about Thunder...My likes: I like food, walks, toys and people . I also love cars in a big way!
My dislikes: Nothing—I am an easy-going guy who loves it all! I get along with: Everyone! I can play a bit hard for some other dogs, but I’ll play with anyone. I haven’t met a cat so I am unsure how I’d do with those. My ideal home: A home with a fenced yard for me to play in would be awesome. I’d love a canine sibling, too! Because I am kind of a bull in a china shop, a home without small children would be best for me. My ideal adopter: My ideal adopter is ready for a big lug who will love you unconditionally! I’m looking for a family who will love me and practice patience and consistency while I learn all the things no one ever taught me. Additional info you might want to know about Thunder: Thunder’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. He was sadly left behind when his family moved away, without food or water, until kindhearted strangers stepped in and brought him to safety at a shelter. There, Thunder began to heal and even doubled his weight, but the shelter environment was overwhelming for him. Thankfully, he was able to be transferred to BBR, where his foster family has given him the time and space he needed to decompress and recover from his rough start in life. Thunder is truly a great dog who just wants to be with his people. Despite having experienced starvation, he shows no food or resource guarding—he happily shares toys, treats, and meals with his foster siblings (so much so that his foster mom has had to remind the resident dogs that this level of sharing isn’t required!). Thunder loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends, but he can be a bit too enthusiastic for some dogs and does best with tolerant, playful companions who appreciate his energy. He’s a smart boy who learns quickly and thrives when his active mind is kept busy. Thunder loves training, walks, and enrichment activities, especially snuffle mats and puzzle feeders. He’s eager to please and will sit nicely when asked. Because Thunder didn’t have early guidance, he’s still learning appropriate mouth manners, and his foster family is helping him with that every day. For this reason, Thunder would do best in a home without children and with adopters who are patient and committed to continuing his training. Thunder is resilient, affectionate and ready for a fresh start with people who will love him the way he deserves.
