My likes: I LOOOOVE people—all people, big, small, male and female. Toys are also fun, I like my big red kong ball; sometimes I manage to pick it up and carry it, mostly I roll it and pounce on it. I like to give “bear hugs” and play rather rough, which I am learning is not always a great thing and can make younger children, or more fragile adults, grumpy with me. I'm working on toning it down though!
My dislikes: I don't like being crated in another room while my foster family is home. I eventually settle down, but let them know by barking that I am there and want to be with them. Crated in the same room is okay though (as I get accustomed to my foster dog and cat siblings, and they get used to me!).
I get along with: I get along with other dogs as long as they don’t mind a little rough-and-tumble play. My older foster family’s dog barked and growled at me and I kept pouncing on her so we had to be separated—oops! A younger dog sibling may be a better fit for me. I am curious about cats, and have tried to investigate the cat in my foster home, but will come when my foster mom calls, so I am probably okay living with fairly sedentary feline housemates. I love older children but since I weigh a bit, I could be overwhelming to children not used to dogs or not used to large dogs.
Additional info you might want to know about me: I am working on learning manners, as I have learned my fosters do not enjoy me running and jumping into them! Now, I stop and/or sit, but I am still learning about controlling my exuberance around new people and children. Overall I am a pretty good boy! I'm still young and tend to be mischievous and find all the kid's toys in the yard my foster mom missed picking up. I am great about not chewing my toys, bed or crate pad but I have a strange attraction to the couch pillows and would possibly be naughty if not supervised. Generally I follow my humans around the house or come when called, which makes keeping track of me easier.
I like to poop in areas outside of the grass, generally in ground cover. Just a quirk of mine, but my fosters think this is quite considerate since they generally don’t walk in those areas!
