My likes: I like treats, soft fuzzy blankets/ beds, snuggles, belly rubs, snuggling, quiet places, playing tug of war, playing fetch (will even bring toy back—most of the time!), chew toys (Nylabones), and being warm. I also enjoy going on car rides, taking baths and I LOVE being brushed.
My dislikes: I am not a fan of loud noises or door bells. I will go in a crate but don't really like it; I do much better being contained in small areas like a bathroom or laundry room when no one is around. Getting my nails trimmed isn't my favorite thing, but give me a frozen treat and I’ll tolerate it.
I get along with: I get along with all people—I love attention! While I do OK with a male dogs, a home without other pets would be best for me due to my anxiety. When it comes to cats, I'll ignore them if they ignore me, but I'm still not sure I should cohabitate with them.
My ideal home: I would love a home that is calm, structured, and relaxing! I would enjoy a home that has a few small places where I can go when I am left alone and where I would feel safe and secure. A fenced yard would be terrific, but I’ve learned to do well on my leash! I do like to take the lead but will calm down after the first few minutes. My ideal home would be warm and maybe even have a fireplace. I love to sit right by the fireplace to stay toasty. If not, I also love to bury my face under a blanket or under your arm for extra comfort and warmth. 😊 A home with a relaxed atmosphere without a lot of commotion would be best.
My ideal adopter: My ideal adopter would be a family that loves to snuggle as I feel most secure when I am snuggled in right next to someone.
Additional info you might want to know about me: I am intelligent, cute, sweet, and easy to love! I know simple commands like “sit” and giving a paw. I am currently working on “leave it” and “come.” I’m eager to learn and will work for treats, positive praise or belly rubs. I’m not a picky eater and have good table manners. I love to please and I’m happiest when I’m making you happy as well. Although I sometimes have anxiety, it’s easy to figure out and eliminate my triggers. A calming voice and high calm strokes to my back do wonders for my heart when I’m anxious. I’m an all-around huge love bug that enjoys attention and being snuggled.
My foster parents say I'd either need a fenced yard or currently need to be on a leash while outside. I like to chase any/everything that moves! I also like to try to smell and sometimes sneak a quick bite of any/everything outside (including bugs, rocks, mulch, etc.) so you will need to keep a close eye on me until I’m familiar with “dos” and “don'ts” of the outside world.
I am extremely affectionate! It might take me a few minutes to warm up to strangers, and I can be quite boisterous until I feel comfortable with the visitors so a home with less foot traffic would be ideal. However, once I’m settled in watch out, you will be hooked on my love and affection. My foster mom says I have one of the sweetest dispositions of any dog she has ever met. It certainly doesn’t hurt, that I’m so darn smart and adorable. So if you love being loved, I will be the perfect match for you. If you are looking for a lovable companion that will make you laugh and melt your heart, I am the perfect girl for you!
