Greta
Intake Date: 08/18/2022
Origination Place: Breeder surrender Last Update: 01/11/2023 Age: 3 years DOB: Unknown Gender: Female Weight: 19 lbs. Energy Level: Low Color & Markings: Fawn Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes Homes with children under 8 can be considered: Older children recommended Object Aggression: None Special Needs: Mobility restrictions due to IVDD (weak hind end); Heart disease Medications: Heart medications twice daily; Monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative; Pain and sedative medications as needed Crate Trained: No House Trained: Almost there! Physical Fence Required: Preferred My likes: I love humans, sleeping, sunbathing, the outdoors and cat toys. Oh and humans. And love and affection. Nuzzling, cuddling, snuggling and snoring are some of my best talents. I prefer squeeze cheese to peanut butter. I loooove wet food mixed into my kibble and will almost always take my meds this way. I also expect to be held like a baby. I get along with: Absolutely everyone and everything! My dislikes: I am sad when left alone. I hate the crate. I will do much better with a dog bed in your bedroom and will be silent all night long! My ideal home: My ideal home would have plenty of non-skid surfaces. A one-story home or home without many stairs would be even better! I can’t do stairs or get off/on furniture on my own—but I will try. So, my family needs to have my best interests in mind to be sure I don’t injure myself with my attempts at athletics. Also, there must be plenty of doggy beds to snooze in and cat-sized toys to attack. A fenced yard would also be great; if there isn’t one, I must be leashed at all times outdoors as I like to suddenly take off after squirrels and bunnies My ideal adopter: My ideal adopter likes short leisurely strolls outdoors throughout the day. They should also be someone who snuggles! Someone who can take me to work or works from home would be perfection. I will sleep on you or next to you the entire time you’re working no matter where we are. I pride myself on being the most snuggly emotional support out there. Additional information you may want to know about me: I am 85% human toddler, 10% cat and 5% bulldog. I’m like a 2-year-old toddler at nap time—I fall asleep instantly. As long as I can’t fall off furniture or down stairs, I will likely stay in the same spot sleeping all day. I recommend a doggy camera to monitor my safety. A stroller would wonderful for longer outdoor walks due to my exercise intolerance. I am very low maintenance due to my sleeping skills but may need you to react quickly if I get excited and attempt jumps on my own. If there are stairs around, a baby gate is a must because I think I’m an athlete and will fly up and down with no regard for my IVDD. I also like to eat from an elevated bowl and step so I can put my front paws up while I eat and engage my back legs. I can get the zoomies but, with my heart disease, I am very intolerant of vigorous exercise. I prefer a casual long stroll. Crates are the one thing I just can’t stand. I have separation anxiety when left in the crate and may injure myself trying to get out. I do best with an enclosed area like with a pen or my own room. Baby gate will help keep me safe. I just prefer to be your shadow and then I will snooze my day away. The first 3 years of my life I went potty whenever and I’ve been practicing on potty pads for any extreme winter weather. I’m not 100% successful but I’m doing so well with training. If I’m sleeping I won’t go potty indoors and I sleep all day and night, so you’re pretty much in the clear! ! As long as I have regular potty strolls outside I will be good. How could you resist me?!
