Origination Place: Owner surrender Last Update: 07/16/2023 Age: 5 years DOB: 06/09/2018 Gender: Male Weight: 69 lbs. Energy Level: Low Color & Markings: Caramel with white and black Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Homes with children under 8 can be considered: No Object aggression: None Special Needs: None Medications: Monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative Crate Trained: Unknown House Trained: Almost there! (Working on communication of bathroom needs) Physical Fence Required: Preferred My likes: My likes include food, toys and a comfy place to sleep. I have liked everyone that I have met while in my foster home. I have a canine foster sister and she and I get along just fine. My dislikes: My current diet plan. Give me all the food! I have not been a fan of the fireworks these past few weeks. I also don’t like being out of the eyesight of my people. I follow them wherever they go. I get along with: My canine foster sister, but she’s a little shy and docile and smaller than me. We’ve played together very little and mostly just coexist in the same house. I’ve also met kids of various ages and I like to hang out with them. But I don’t think I should permanently live with small kids as I can get worked up easily at play time and mistakenly hurt them. My ideal adopter: My ideal adopter will be someone that will get me to a healthy weight and get me out to see the people in my neighborhood. I will benefit from an adopter that keeps me stimulated and active. An experienced bulldog owner would be great as I have a lot of the regular bulldog qualities that need to be managed. I can get a little mouthy when playing and I'm learning that I'm not the alpha when my foster mom is around, so someone that is willing to continue working with me on these manners will ensure I have the best of the rest of my life ahead of me. I also like to supervise my human in all that they are doing. Yard work? I’m there to help pick up sticks. Cleaning closets? I’ll sit with you and tell you what to keep and what to toss. Naps on the couch? I’ll curl up next to you so you don’t need a blanket because I am 69 lbs. of body heat. Additional info you might want to know about me: I was surrendered to BBR in the summer of 2022 due to my owner having some health issues to deal with. I was adopted by a family but I did not get along with their kids so they lovingly surrendered me back to BBR. I do well in the car but I love to be inside with the A/C. I have a big yard to roam and I do like to sun myself on the porch. But my foster mom makes sure I don’t stay out there for too long because I can get overheated easily. I'm not bothered by the vacuum cleaner or people walking by the house —I'm a very chill dude. I have had my tail amputated and palate surgery since coming to BBR. I have a history of ear infections but my foster mom has kept watch and I'm not experiencing anything currently. I love playing with toys and I get worked up really quick. My forever family will need to keep an eye on me to make sure I don't get too excited and overheated with the excitement of play time. I’m unaware of how strong I am and how my size contributes to the pressure applied to my mom when I’m running full speed ahead at her. I always tend to get so excited that I confuse hands for my toys and need to take a break so no one gets hurt.
