Portia
Intake Date: 02/14/2022
Origination Place: Breeder surrender Last Update: 03/22/2022 Age: 1 year DOB: Unknown Gender: Female Weight: 21.6 lbs. Energy Level: High Color & Markings: Cream Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Homes with children under 8 can be considered: No Object Aggression: None Special Needs: Regular cleaning of ears and facial folds Medications: Monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Working on it! Physical Fence Required: Strongly preferred My likes: I love playing, especially sparring with my canine foster siblings. I also like a good chew bone and toys I can chase. Snoozing on the sofa with my foster parents and their pack is really nice too. My dislikes: I have gained a lot of confidence while in foster care, but I am still fearful of someone approaching me excitedly, loudly or reaching into my crate. I'lI come to you or out of my crate when I'm good and ready. I haven't spent much time in a car, so I can be a little scared of it, but I'm sure with a little patience I'll come around. I get along with: I enjoy people who are kind and patient and I like other dogs, especially calm ones, no matter their size. My ideal home: My ideal home is one where there is another dog for me to play with or routine play dates with other dogs where I can run and chase. A family who is looking for a high-energy addition to their pack is perfect. A fenced yard would be amazing, because if I don't have a fenced yard I will need close, leashed supervision when let outside. My ideal adopter: My ideal adopter is someone who wants to play with me and who will continue to work with me on my manners. My foster mom says I want to please, I'm just not 100% certain I know how to do that yet. If you have friends who have dogs, too, all the better! Additional info you might want to know about me: I am really young, really sweet and I thrive in the company of others.Sometimes I wander into my crate to chill, but my foster family has taught me that chilling can be a group activity, too. I haven't been around little kids yet and I like to jump, so a family with children would definitely have to keep on eye on me. Did I mention I like to chew things I'm not supposed to? So far I've learned that certain things are off limits and my foster mom has been redirecting me with chew bones and toys. With a little more work, I should be able to tell the difference in no time!
