Intake Date: 09/27/2022
Origination Place: Owner surrender Last Update: 10/27/2022 Age: 2 years DOB: Unknown Gender: Male Weight: 59 lbs. Energy Level: Moderate Color & Markings: White and tan Good with other dogs: Working on it! Good with cats: Unknown, but would probably chase Homes with children under 8 can be considered: Yes Object Aggression: Some, with other dogs Special Needs: None Medications: Monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Physical Fence Required: Yes My likes: I love attention and cuddling. I love playing with my ball, chewing on my bone (chewing anything really), and anything involving food! I also really love being outside and running around too. Given the chance I will destroy any stuffed toy I can get my paws on in 10 seconds flat. I also really like snooping, so I can find anything you try to hide! My foster mom calls me snoopy. My dislikes: I'm not a fan of nail trims or ear cleanings, but peanut butter is a great incentive. I'm OK when I'm left alone, but I prefer to be where my people are. I don't like to be far and prefer if you come into the yard with me when I potty. Ceiling fans also freak me out (they're scary, right?!). I get along with: I get along with pretty much everyone, though I prefer people over other dogs. I'm not really interested in my canine foster brother. We play for a little bit, but mostly I like my ball and people. My ideal home: My ideal new home would have a nice-sized fenced-in yard for me to chase a ball and run around. I'm more of a people person, so I'd be OK if I was the only dog (I'm really not very interested in other dogs). I do play like I'm on the WWE, so if I have a playmate they would have to like my rough-and-tumble play style. My canine foster brother plays with me and lets me do my thing. But, I get pretty excited when I play, so my foster mom sometimes has to interrupt. I would probably do better with a playmate more my size and one that will tolerate my puppy-like behaviors. My ideal adopter: I want three things in life: To play fetch, eat food and cuddle. I like to cuddle in your lap too, so an adopter that wouldn't mind sharing their couch and bed would be perfection. I am working on my leash skills but I really think I'd like someone who will take me for walks or hikes too. I'm also a very curious chap, so I would love someone who lets me just check things out! I also really dig this learning thing so, I hope my new family would want to take me to school to learn more commands and tricks! Additional info you might want to know about me: I can open the dog food container and help myself if you leave it in my reach! I also taught myself how to open the automatic trash can lid so I can investigate and help myself to any delicious scraps. I can also jump up and open the door if it has a handle. I eat really, really fast so I should be fed in a slow feeder bowl. My foster mom mixes a little wet food or asparagus/green beans, or water with my kibble to help slow me down too. I also have a lot of energy, and need my exercise. I'm curious about things, so I investigate anything I can get my nose on. Even if that means climbing on things in not supposed to! Oops! I also love to learn, and I'm a pretty quick study. My foster mom has started teaching me new things with a clicker! I'm really working hard on wait, drop it, leave it and off.
