Color & Markings: Brindle & White
Good with other dogs: Yes, he is great with my female. He has done fine in the vets office around other dogs and has done fine on our shopping trips.
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: I have 12 year old sitter that he does fine with, other than that I am not sure, but I believe the previous owner had a nephew he spent time with and was fine. Due to object aggression older kids would be best.
Object Aggression: yes, Brutus gets into things and does not like to drop them when you tell him to. Instead, he will growl and snap if you try to take it away. We offer him a small piece of grilled chicken and then he usually gives up whatever it is that he has willingly and if not we squirt him in the mouth with a water bottle. We also try to keep anything that he may not have out of his reach.
Special Needs: Brutus has a history of seizures. They are controlled with medication.
Medications: Phenobarbital 2x a day. Tacrolimus eye ointment 1x a day and Genteal eye lubrication 2x a day as needed. Requires his tail pocket and facial folds to be cleaned daily. He should have his ears cleaned weekly. Brutus takes his medication in small pieces of grilled chicken strips that we buy precooked from the store. Brutus is currently eating Royal Canin Bulldog and eats carrots as treats, he is very picky and does well on this food and it would be best that he stay on it. He also will have to have blood work completed every six months to a year because of his seizures.
Crate Trained: Yes
House Trained: Yes - a seizure will cause him to have an accident, but he has not had any seizures in his fosters home.
Physical Fence Required: No
Adoption donation: TBD
Please consider sponsoring Brutus to help with his medical bills.
Intake info: Brutus was surrendered to us when his dad experienced a change in financial status. He felt he could no longer care for him the way he needed. Brutus has had a history of seizures (now controlled on meds) and recurrent tail/ear infections. Brutus is incredibly affectionate sweet little guy, just waiting on his furever home. Brutus will do best with a very loving patient owner who can give him their full attention. He does great with feline companions and our female dog. Consider opening your heart to him as he is a wonderful companion.
